The BiDi Magician
It's early days village memory - there was a charming, always ready, a very happy and helpful person Amulya-da. I had never seen him complaining anything about and he had no problem in life at all.
It was sometime after the rainy season... and the crop fields were full of water, aals (dividers) were muddy. One day few of us friends going for bath to nearby pond, and suddenly saw Amulya-da lying at a corner of the filed, soaked partially in water. And a little far off, there was a completely smashed big pumpkin. We went to him and asked, "Amulya-da ki hoi-n-chhe? Erom jok-kadai lutai-n an-chho jya?"(Amulya-da, what happened? why are you soaked and lying on mud?). He smiled and replied, "Dingla-tau chhat-ra-futa hoi-n gya-law" (My only pumpkin got smashed). Then we looked arround at that place and found that the pumpkin actually was fell on a bolder rock, and hence...
Poor Amulya-da was carrying the pumpkin on his head for 2km from near by haat (farmers market), and he skid - tire ese tori dubechhe (just before reaching home). So he was little sad for a moment.
Anyways, that was all about the incident. Amulya-da used to show us a type of Bidi Magic and entertain us. Those days there was no warning in movies like Dhumpan Swsther pokshe Khotikar (Smoking Kills).
Can you do like Amulya-da? Koi kore dekhao dekhi ;-).
